KUALA LUMPUR: National track cycling head coach (sprints) Harnizam Basri has yet to decide whether to field Shah Firdaus Sahrom in the men's team sprint event at the Shanghai World Championships (Oct 14-18).
Shah has not qualified for the men's individual sprint nor the men's keirin at the world meet, thus the team sprint is the only event he is eligible to compete in.
"Shah has made the trip to Shanghai but at the moment we do not know yet whether he will race in the team sprint event," said Harnizam when contacted in China today.
"He has been shortlisted for the team sprint and we are still going through a trial period.
