KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Hills Resort Bhd (BHRB) is seeking leave from the Federal Court to appeal against a decision upholding the Pahang government's revision of its quit rent, with the application set to be heard on Dec 8.
In a statement today, BHRB said it filed the application on Aug 14 after the Court of Appeal on July 16 upheld the Temerloh High Court's dismissal of its challenge against the revised quit rent rates.
The company said the development came as the Pahang state authorities began enforcement action against its properties at Berjaya Hills on Sept 28, including staff quarters, a central laundry and other essential facilities.
BHRB described the enforcement action as "unconscionable and totally unacceptable", saying it was unreasonable and extreme given that its application for leave to appeal remained pending.
