NAGOYA: Recapturing the men's team gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday was sweet redemption for squash player Ng Eain Yow after the disappointment of the Hangzhou Games.

Malaysia defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the final to recapture the gold they last won at the 2018 Indonesia Games.

In Hangzhou, Malaysia lost 2-0 to India in the semi-finals after Addeen Idrakie Bahtiar lost to Abhay Singh before Eain Yow was outplayed by Saurav Ghosal and thus failed to defend their gold.

The disappointment cut deep, particularly as Eain Yow had bagged the men's singles gold in Hangzhou.

This time around, the world No. 18 arrived with a sharp focus to make amends. He did so in commanding fashion, successfully defending his men's individual crown before steering Malaysia to the men's team title.
