JOHOR BARU: Passenger service on the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link is expected to begin in February 2027, with all system tests and trial runs targeted for completion by Dec 31.

RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO) said in a statement today that the timeline took into account the expected duration of the remaining works, as well as the time required for third-party safety certification and approvals from the grantors of both countries.

"Our goal is to provide a safe and reliable service on the RTS Link," it said.

The RTS Link, a bilateral project between Malaysia and Singapore, will connect Bukit Chagar in Johor Baru with Woodlands North in Singapore.

Upon completion, the service will have a peak capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, with the journey between the two stations expected to take about 5 minutes.
