KUALA LUMPUR: Producer and director Erma Fatima said the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali gave Malaysians a precious final gift when she attended the Seniman Semeja event at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya, alongside former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, just a week before her death.
Moved by the passing of the beloved "Mother of the Nation," Erma fondly recalled sharing sweet moments with the couple during birthdays and gatherings with local artistes.
"We celebrated her just a week ago," Erma said.
"Perhaps it was God's will that we received such a special gift before she left us. Her presence alone made a lasting impact on everyone there."
Erma recalled how Dr Siti Hasmah entertained the guests on the day.
