PETALING JAYA: Former Petaling Jaya member of parliament Lee Chean Chung has challenged PKR deputy secretary-general Bryan Ng to disclose his own attendance and voting record at Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) meetings, after being criticised over his participation in council discussions.

Lee said an MP was not an MBPJ member but could be invited to attend council meetings as an observer, without voting rights or the authority to approve council papers.

He said Ng, an MBPJ councillor, had focused on his attendance at council meetings instead of the policy issues he had raised.

"My primary arena is the Dewan Rakyat, parliamentary committees and engagement with ministries. That is where the voice of Petaling Jaya is carried to the federal level," he said in a statement today.
