Hulu Terengganu police chief Sharudin Abdul Wahab said the 23-year-old woman was arrested at her home.
An autopsy found that the baby was full term and died more than 24 hours prior. However, it could not be determined whether the baby was born alive or dead, nor could the cause of death be ascertained. The sex of the baby has also not been determined, he said in a statement today.
A woman discovered the body, with several missing limbs, in a drain while she was washing clothes behind her house in the Padang Setengge residential area yesterday.
