JAKARTA, Oct 26 — Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) said Monday it has extended the policy allowing listed companies to buy back shares without requiring general meeting of shareholders approval until June 2027, from the previous deadline of late 2026, reported Xinhua.

Speaking at a press conference at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Hasan Fawzi, an OJK official, said the extension responds to requests from issuers seeking timeframe certainty, as many consider their current share price levels favourable for buybacks.

Hasan said share buyback executions must strictly comply with financial services authority regulations.

Those rules require issuers to adhere to prudential principles, ensure financial capability, and fulfil information disclosure obligations to bolster market stability and investor confidence, Hasan said. — Bernama-Xinhua
