Among the new products Apple launched this year is the AirPods 5, which, as you can tell by the name, is the fifth generation of its wireless earbuds. The new audio device replaces the AirPods 4, which launched back in 2024. Given the gap between the releases, one would expect some considerable changes, be it in terms of design or features.
Much like the candybar iPhones, however, the new audio device brings iterative upgrades. These improvements mainly come in the form of improved ANC, which promises a better listening experience. There are a few other tweaks here and there, though they aren’t particularly substantial.
