Malaysia’s next national budget is set to be tabled in Parliament on 9 October 2026, with the government positioning Budget 2027 as a blueprint for both the country’s ambitions and the everyday needs of its people.

The theme running through the government’s pre-budget plans can be summed up simply: reaching for the sky, while staying grounded.

On one side, Malaysia wants to climb higher — attracting high-value investments, developing artificial intelligence and digital capabilities, strengthening local companies and creating better-paying jobs.

On the other, the government recognises that economic growth means little if Malaysians are still struggling with food prices, housing, healthcare, education and retirement.
