PETALING JAYA: MCA Youth has asked what will happen to the personal data of people who used MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd's services after the road transport department (JPJ) suspended the companies as collection agents.
MCA Youth information chief Neow Choo Seong said the government should reveal whether the MYEG Group subsidiaries would be required to return or delete data obtained from users, and what safeguards were in place to prevent misuse.
He said the companies would have obtained information such as people's names, MyKad numbers, home addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, vehicle ownership, driving licences, and summons records.
