KUALA LUMPUR: The National Unity Ministry, through the Museums Department, is holding the Malaysian Karst Heritage Exhibition at Muzium Negara to raise public awareness of preserving the country's caves and karst landscapes.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the exhibition, which runs until Dec 31, showcased geological wonders, biodiversity, archaeological discoveries and the historical and cultural significance of caves and rock formations.

He said caves and karst landscapes were more than natural formations as they preserved traces of life, history and heritage that helped tell Malaysia's story.

"The exhibition aims to boost public awareness of the importance of caves and karst areas, given their geological, biodiversity and archaeological value, while strengthening conservation efforts for the benefit of science, education, history, culture and tourism," he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
