ALOR SETAR: All educational institutions in Kedah will operate as usual tomorrow as the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at all monitoring areas in the state were recorded below 100 as of 2pm today.
The Kedah State Education Department (JPN) said in a statement that this is, however, subject to further directives from the Education Ministry and relevant authorities.
"The Kedah JPN expresses its appreciation for the concern and decree of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, regarding the importance of safeguarding the safety, health and welfare of students and education personnel following the haze affecting several areas in the country.
"The API readings are below 100, so all educational institutions in Kedah will operate as usual," the statement said.
