"By delivering vital compute power and state-of-the-art tools directly to research teams, this effort aims to accelerate the pace of European innovation and reinforce the continent's scientific competitiveness," Google said in a statement released at an AI summit in Dublin.

The researchers, chosen by the European Commission under its Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) scheme, will get access to Google DeepMind and Google Cloud's "leading scientific tools including AlphaFold 3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve, and AlphaEarth Foundations," Google said.
