KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 46 foreigners in raids on nine suspected online gambling call centres across the capital over the past two days.

City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the raids were carried out under Op Dadu Khas on Oct 1 and 2.

"The foreigners are suspected of operating online gambling call centres and are also being investigated for immigration offences.

"Initial investigations found that all those arrested admitted to being involved in organising online gambling activities targeting customers from China, Korea and the Philippines," he said in a statement.

He said the operations are believed to have been active for between one and three months, with those involved receiving monthly salaries of between RM2,000 and RM3,500.
