TAWAU: An 18-year-old college student has been remanded for three days to assist investigations into the alleged rape of an underage girl two years ago.
Magistrate Don Stiwin Malanjum granted the remand order against the suspect until Oct 23.
The order was issued following an application by Tawau district police headquarters Criminal Investigation Division investigating officer Inspector Nurhafizah Hussin under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The case is being investigated under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
