KLANG: Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has warned members of the Selangor royal family against exploiting their royal status to deceive others for personal gain.
His Royal Highness stressed that royal status did not give anyone the right to act as they pleased, reminding family members to respect the law and comply with all regulations.
"We have a responsibility to protect the reputation of the Selangor royal family and institution. Every family member is accountable for their conduct and actions, as the behaviour of one individual can affect public perceptions of the entire royal family.
"The way we conduct ourselves, interact with society and fulfil our responsibilities must reflect the dignity and integrity of the royal family and institution," His Royal Highness said at a royal tea reception with members of the royal family in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of his reign at Padang Mahkota, Istana Alam Shah, here today.
