ALOR GAJAH: Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional have allocated two additional seats to MCA for the Melaka election based on winnability and ground assessments, said state BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ab Rauf Yusoh.
He said the decision to allocate the Kota Laksamana and Bandar Hilir state seats to MCA was reached through mutual agreement, with both coalitions recognising that the seats should be contested by the party with the better chances of winning.
The latest allocation brings MCA's total to four seats, while BN will contest 23 seats overall.
"The decision was reached through mutual negotiations and in the interests of both sides, after reviewing the findings of studies which showed that it would be better to allocate the seats to the party with greater potential to win.
