Melaka election: The real test begins after the votes are counted
THE crowds have gathered, the banners are flying and the political machinery is in motion. But amid the noise and spectacle of nomination day, one question should matter more than any other: what will the people of Melaka actually gain when the campaigning ends?
With 79 candidates competing for 28 state seats in the November 14 election, Melaka is entering another important political contest.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) is fielding 24 candidates, Barisan Nasional (BN) 23, Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) 16, Bersatu seven, Perikatan Nasional (PN) five and Putra one, alongside three independents.
