KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — The High Court today reportedly struck out a lawsuit by the family of the late former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin and two lawyers seeking to halt a police investigation into an alleged plot to overthrow the government.

According to Free Malaysia Today, Justice Indra Nehru Savandiah allowed the government’s application to strike out the suit after finding that it disclosed no reasonable cause of action.

The judge reportedly found insufficient evidence to support the plaintiffs’ claim that the police investigation, conducted under Section 124B of the Penal Code, was carried out in bad faith.

She also found that allegations that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s public remarks had influenced the investigation were speculative and unsupported by facts, the report said.
