KUALA LUMPUR: A busy work schedule and pressing professional duties have forced Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and his bride-to-be, singer-actress Bella Astillah, to put their honeymoon plans on ice for now.
Joking about the situation during a recent press conference for their upcoming wedding, the politician quipped: "Perhaps after getting married, we'll have our honeymoon in Parliament. I'm only joking, of course."
Explaining the decision, Syed Saddiq said that both he and Bella are tied down with demanding work commitments.
With Parliament resuming this week and running until early December, there is little room for a traditional getaway.
"Most couples go straight on their honeymoon after tying the knot, but we simply can't," he said.
