SHAH ALAM, Oct 2 — The Selangor state government has expanded its RM30 Monthly Selangor Public Transport Subsidy to KTM Komuter services, effective immediately.
State Investment, Trade and Mobility Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the expansion would enable more users to benefit from the subsidy, which initially covered Rapid KL On-Demand and Kumpool services.
He said more than 90 per cent of subsidy recipients previously opted for Rapid KL On-Demand, with those aged 26 to 35 making up the largest user group at 35 per cent.
“By including KTM Komuter in the scheme, we aim to have a greater impact on the commuter community in Selangor and encourage wider use of the public transport network,” he said in a statement today.
