KUCHING, Oct 22: Malaysia is looking to host future international tourism events organised by United Nation (UN) Tourism, while greater clarity on the Malaysia-China joint nomination of lion dance for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list is expected by the end of this year or early next year.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Facebook post Dato Sri Tiong King Sing shared the developments in a Facebook post following a bilateral meeting with UN Tourism executive director Liu Shijun in Guilin, China.

Tiong explained that Malaysia is leading the joint nomination.

“Based on what we know at present, there is likely to be greater clarity on its outcome towards the end of this year or early next year,” he added.
