KUALA LUMPUR: Two children of the late tycoon Ta Kin Yan have questioned a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission announcement that their brother, Ta Jin Kiat, is wanted to assist in a court case.
Kelvin and Cheryl Ta, citing a statement issued by MACC on Sept 11, said the authorities had never formally asked their brother to attend or assist in any court proceedings.
They said Jin Kiat, who is currently outside Malaysia, is afraid to return home after his full address was published online by the anti-graft agency.
Speaking to reporters outside the Dang Wangi police headquarters here today, Kelvin and Cheryl said they lodged separate police reports urging the cops to investigate their concerns and to ensure the safety of Jin Kiat and their families.
