THE revelation that Zetrix AI Bhd, formerly known as MyEG Sdn Bhd, owes the Road Transport Department (RTD) more than RM200 million in unremitted collections is shocking.
The e-government services pioneer, which has operated since 2000, collected payments on behalf of the Road Transport Department (RTD) for road tax, driving licences and traffic summonses.
Zetrix, which assumed its new name in July last year 2025, reportedly failed to remit the fees it collected from the start of its three-year contract in May 2023. Why did Zetrix stop remitting the money? We do not know, but its financial position raises questions.
Corporate disclosures and media reports show that its development expenditure rose sharply to more than RM3.7 billion, while it also faced substantial debt obligations. Still, motorists have not been left without options, as RTD JPJ has directed them to its official and alternative payment channels.
