KUALA NERANG: The remains of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) officer who died in a boat collision in Perlis waters yesterday, were laid to rest tonight.
The burial of Leading Seaman (Technical) Mohd Roshaimi Mohd Ridzuan, 41, at Masjid Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Islamic Cemetery was completed at 9.45pm, with the MMEA conducting funeral rites and providing a ceremonial escort as a final tribute to the deceased.
Earlier, the remains arrived at the mosque at 8.41pm from Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar after the post-mortem examination was completed.
Funeral prayers were held at the mosque, led by Mohd Izhar Zakaria, and attended by hundreds of congregants, including family members, locals and MMEA personnel.
