At 16, most teenagers are busy figuring out their next steps in life. Kuala Lumpur’s Max Tang, however, is preparing to carry the Jalur Gemilang onto the world stage, with a double championship victory already under his belt.

The young Malaysian open-water swimmer has been selected as Malaysia’s flag bearer at the OCEANMAN World Finals Championships 2026, taking place in Miches, Dominican Republic, from 13 to 15 November.

It is an honour that comes after an impressive run at OCEANMAN Kota Kinabalu in July, where Max won both the 2km Sprint and 5km Half Oceanman events.
