KUALA LUMPUR: Fourteen official visits and trade and investment missions led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani generated RM59.5 billion in potential investments between 2025 and September this year.

The Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) said the missions were carried out through the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade).

Of the total potential investments, RM14.2 billion have been approved, and the remaining RM45.3 billion are at various stages of negotiation and are being continuously followed up, Miti added.

"On the breakdown of realised investments, a project typically takes between 18 and 24 months to materialise, depending on its scale and complexity and prevailing economic conditions," the ministry said in a written parliamentary reply today.
