KBS says the HYROX KL application is still being processed. Under the Safe Sport Code, alcohol and tobacco firms cannot sponsor or promote approved sporting events.

PUTRAJAYA: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) will not approve the HYROX Kuala Lumpur 2026 event, scheduled to take place from Dec 10 to 13, unless the sponsorship from an alcoholic beverage company is withdrawn entirely.

Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said in a statement today that this included the removal of all related logos, trademarks and promotional materials from the event’s official channels and competition venue.

He said the application to organise the event was still being processed and had yet to be approved by the ministry.
