KUALA LUMPUR: The Economy Ministry has allocated RM813.8 million, or 38.4% of its RM2.12 billion development allocation under Budget 2027, for initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of the public.
Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the initiatives would focus on community infrastructure, income-generating opportunities, human capital development and entrepreneurship.
He added that the people-centric approach was aimed at ensuring economic growth translated into tangible benefits, including more employment and business opportunities, as well as improved economic mobility.
He was winding up the debate on the Supply Bill 2027 and the ministry’s 2027 Development Expenditure Estimates at the committee stage in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday.
