KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney-General has sought an audience with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, to express his position on complying with the royal decree on the Conditional Pardon Order granted to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The Prime Minister's Office, in a statement, said the A-G, Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, will also explain the legal questions arising from the High Court's Release Order following the payment of the RM50 million fine, which was a precondition for Najib's house arrest.

According to the statement, the issues must be determined by the court as they have implications for the commencement date of the prison sentence in Najib's 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.
