The Election Commission has set Nov 14, 2026, as polling day for the 16th Malacca state election, while Oct 31 has been fixed as nomination day.

EC chairperson Ramlan Harun announced the key dates for the state election during a press conference at a hotel in Malacca today.

Previously, Malacca Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh announced the dissolution of the state legislative assembly effective Sept 23 to pave the way for the state election.

In the previous state election, BN successfully formed the state government after winning 21 of the 28 seats.
