KUALA LUMPUR: Nine states and federal territories to record a 100 per cent usage rate for the monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) as of Sept 20.

The Finance Ministry said these were Kedah, Kelantan, Perlis, Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Perak, Pahang and Labuan.

"The lowest usage rates were recorded in Putrajaya at 94 per cent and Johor at 95 per cent.

"Based on data as of Sept 20, nearly 8.4 million monthly Sara recipients under the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah had used their MyKad to purchase basic necessities at registered premises.

"This reflected a usage rate of 99.7 per cent, with transaction value in the local market reaching RM5.2 billion," the ministry said in a written parliamentary reply today.
