KUALA LUMPUR: Households will receive rebates of up to RM200 for energy-efficient air conditioners and refrigerators under the Nur Madani programme.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said hotter weather contributed to higher electricity consumption, highlighting the need to encourage more efficient energy use.

The initiative is part of the government's broader push to promote green technology adoption and manage rising electricity demand.

Separately, the government will extend green investment tax incentives until Dec 31, 2030, including investment tax allowances of up to 100 per cent for qualifying green technology projects, electric vehicle charging stations and green technology assets acquired for own use.
