"Sporting events like these should be used to enhance the country’s standing and foster unity among Malaysians," said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim when tabling the 2027 budget today.

Anwar also announced an allocation of RM460 million for national sports development, including high-performance sports programmes, the Road to Gold initiative, programmes for para-athletes and deaf athletes, and the maintenance of sports facilities nationwide.
