Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the increase in minimum monthly pensions is part of a series of initiatives to support civil servants and retirees.KUALA LUMPUR: The government will increase the minimum monthly pension from RM1,000 to RM1,350, benefitting nearly 59,000 retirees, armed forces veterans, and recipients of derivative pensions.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who announced the increase when tabling the 2027 budget, said the measure is part of a series of initiatives to support civil servants and retirees.
Anwar said the government has also agreed to a one-off special promotion for 12,000 management and professional officers whose promotions have been held up due to the limited availability of positions.
