Two women, both aged 22, died in the car-lorry accident at Batu 1, Jalan Yong Peng-Ayer Hitam, this afternoon. (JBPM pic)BATU PAHAT: Two 22-year-old women were burnt to death when their car caught fire following a collision with a lorry at Batu 1, Jalan Yong Peng-Ayer Hitam, this afternoon.
The victims were identified as the driver of the Perodua Myvi, Siti Nur Batrisya Khalid, and her front seat passenger, Siti Nurmaisarah Abd Jalil.
Ayer Hitam fire and rescue station operations commander Shamin Salikin said they received an emergency call at 4.21pm, and a team arrived at the scene four minutes later.
He said when firefighters arrived, they found the car about 80% burnt, with both victims trapped in the driver and front passenger seats.
