Communications minister Fahmi Fadzil said he has asked MCMC to ensure the fund could be used for more than just traditional postal services, including the delivery of goods and parcels, to remote locations.PETALING JAYA: The government's postal fund to ensure postal and parcel delivery services continue to reach rural and remote areas will become a "reality" when RM150 million is injected into it in the first quarter of 2027.

Communications minister Fahmi Fadzil said the fund, managed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), would help support deliveries to "underserved" areas.

"The fund had been included in the Postal Services Act since 2012, but no previous government had taken steps to make it a reality," he said at the World Post Day celebration today.
