KUALA LUMPUR: There are concerns that hosts Malaysia may have to reduce the number of events at next year's 2027 Asean Para Games (APG) after the 2027 Budget announcement.

An allocation of RM240 million was announced on Friday for Malaysia to organise both the 2027 SEA Games and 2027 APG.

However, Paralympic Council of Malaysia president Datuk Seri Megat D Shahriman Zaharudin said the allocation was considerably lower than the RM700 million organisers had expected for the two Games.

"We were told that it was RM700 million… RM350 million to be given to the Asean Para Games, and RM350 million allocated for the SEA Games," he said.
