KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian qualifier Yasshmita Jadish Kumar created the biggest win of her squash career by stunning Egypt's world No. 34 Marian Metwally in the first round of the Egypt Open in Cairo on Saturday.
Though the world No. 62 from Negri Sembilan lost in the qualifying round to compatriot Yee Xin Ying yesterday, Yasshmita was stilll given a place in the main draw by the organisers as a "lucky loser".
And Yasshmita made full use of this second chance by upsetting Metwally 11-9, 12-10, 11-7 in 35 minutes.
The 22-year-old Yasshmita will face another Egyptian, Farida Mohamed, in the second round.
