KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia's superb run at the Arctic Open ended in the semi-finals when he was beaten by close friend, Anders Antonsen of Denmark, in Finland on Saturday.

The Malaysian world No. 56 ran out of steam at the Vantaa Energia Areena, losing 21-11, 15-21, 21-16 to world No. 6 Antonsen.

Despite the exit, Zii Jia can take heart from his performance, having reached his first Super 500 semi-final in two years and upsetting French world No. 2 Christo Popov in the quarter-finals.
