KUALA LUMPUR: The Malay Rulers have warned against outside interference and attempts to politicise the Negri Sembilan royal crisis, saying the dispute must be resolved through lawful channels by the relevant authorities.
In a statement issued today, the Malay Rulers said the issue must not be exploited for political gain, to garner public support or to expand influence in pursuit of power.
"Contradictory and irresponsible statements will only exacerbate the situation, heighten tensions, confuse the public and tarnish the dignity of the royal institution," the statement read.
The statement was issued by Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad in accordance with the royal decree of the Malay Rulers.
