BEIJING: Chinese pop star Na Ying paid a moving tribute to her late friend, the legendary singer Liu Huan, during her recent concert in Chengdu.
Dressed in black, she sang a short piece of his classic song Curved Moon, AsiaOne reported.
"I want to sing a song he once performed on this stage, to pay tribute to him," Na told the crowd.
Liu Huan, one of China's most beloved musicians for nearly 40 years, died the previous day at age 63.
He was best known internationally for singing the 2008 Beijing Olympics theme song alongside British soprano Sarah Brightman.
