KUALA LUMPUR: Zetrix AI Bhd shares plunged 33 per cent on Friday, closing at 12 sen after a report said the company owes the government more than RM200 million in unremitted collections.

The counter fell 5.5 sen from Thursday's close of 16.5 sen, after opening at 16.5 sen and touching an intraday low of 10 sen.

It was the most actively traded stock on Bursa Malaysia, with about 922 million shares changing hands.

The selloff followed a Straits Times report that Zetrix AI owes the Road Transport Department (RTD) more than RM200 million in road tax, driving licence renewal fees and traffic summonses collected since the start of its three-year contract in May 2023.

The Transport Ministry subsequently confirmed the outstanding amount.
