KUALA LUMPUR: Former Petaling Jaya member of parliament Lee Chean Chung had the opportunity to voice his views within PKR but did not attend most of the party's central leadership council meetings since November.

PKR deputy secretary-general Bryan Ng said the MPP was one of the party's main forums, attended by its president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other leaders, including ministers and deputy ministers.

"Various national issues, government policies and current affairs are raised and discussed at these meetings.

"Party leaders have the opportunity to ask questions, give their views, disagree and raise issues directly with the top leadership," he said in a statement.

He said Lee, who was elected to the MPP, later chose to resign from the party leadership council.
