PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad visited the grave of his wife, Dr Hasmah Ali, at Pusara Negara in Putrajaya today, four days after her death.
Bernama reported that Mahathir arrived with his family members at 11.05am, drawing the attention of about 200 visitors paying their respects. He spent about 20 minutes at the grave before leaving.
He appeared overcome with emotion and shed tears as he recalled his wife of more than seven decades.
The couple’s eldest child, Marina Mahathir, also visited her mother’s grave.
