KUALA LUMPUR: More than three decades after Proton cars first entered the United Kingdom market, the Malaysian marque continues to attract enthusiasts, including a British policeman who has built a personal collection of six models.
Jon Coupland, who lives in Boston, Lincolnshire, said he was drawn to the distinctive designs of older Proton models, which have become increasingly rare in the UK.
His interest began in 2019 when he stumbled upon an online advertisement for a used Proton Saga 1.5 and decided to buy it.
"Without hesitation, I went straight to the dealership, bought the Proton Saga 1.5 and drove it home.
