KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court's decision to grant 12 Ampang Jaya residents leave to challenge the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council Local Plan 2035 (RT MPAJ 2035) through judicial review marks a significant step in their bid to protect community interests.

In a statement, residents' action group TOLAK RT2035 claimed the plan, gazetted on Feb 6, 2025, contained fundamental flaws, including land-use changes that had not been made public.

The group also alleged that objections raised during a public hearing in 2022 had not been incorporated into the plan.

It said the court granted leave for the judicial review application, filed in May last year, after finding that the challenge raised arguable questions of law and fact warranting a full hearing.
