KUCHING, Oct 26: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has declined to speculate on whether adverse weather or haze could affect the 13th Sarawak State Election (PRN13), stressing that environmental conditions remain entirely unpredictable.
When asked whether year-end monsoon rains might pose logistical challenges for the upcoming polls, he quipped: “Mana saya tahu, kalau tak hujan?” (How would I know? What if it does not rain?)
He similarly dismissed concerns regarding potential haze, noting that its severity cannot be forecasted in advance.
Recalling past election obstacles, Abang Johari referenced delays involving ballot box movements during the Covid-19 pandemic, though he refrained from speculating on whether similar issues might arise during PRN13.
