KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — October has got off to a positive start for Malaysia, marked by a vibrant sporting calendar, strong performances by national athletes and encouraging developments in the economy and investment, while several major national agendas await as the month unfolds.

The first weekend of the month saw Malaysia become a focal point for sports fans as the roar of Formula 1 (F1) machinery once again echoed at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) after nine years, with Malaysia hosting the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026.

The return of the prestigious race to Sepang, which last hosted an F1 event in 2017, coincided with two other major international sporting events, the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 and the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2026.
